Lamb of God Launch eBay Auction to Help Pay Randy Blythe's Legal Fees

By Gregory Adams

Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe came back to the U.S. earlier this month, following a five-week detainment in the Czech Republic in connection to manslaughter charges stemming from an alleged concert incident in 2010, but the metal singer’s legal troubles aren’t quite over yet. The vocalist is still facing the charges, and will have to return to Prague sometime in the next couple of months to stand trial. Hoping to cut legal fees down a shade, the rest of the band have announced a number of eBay auctions of equipment and band-related ephemera to help pay Blythe’s bills.

Guitarists Mark Morton and Willie Adler have offered up some road-worn six-strings, and drummer Chris Adler is giving up a snare drum, cymbal bags, pedals and a kick drum skin. Blythe himself has chipped in an old Shure SM58 microphone he acquired from the Bluebird Theater in Denver, CO, after the venue accused him of breaking the piece of equipment. Following a some soldering and a hefty duct tape job, the mic apparently works just fine.

Bassist John Campbell has offered up the weirdest piece of memorabilia: a painting of himself being impaled by a sword-swinging Oderus Urungus (aka Gwar vocalist Dave Brockie). The gory painting was made by Brockie himself.

Musicians outside of the band have also chipped in some gear, with Slash offering up a Les Paul guitar, and Five Finger Death Punch peddling some skateboards.

You can check out all the swag up for grabs over here. You can also make a donation to the Randy Blythe Legal Fund over here.
